TetonSplit aims to help get folks into the backcountry. We ride in the hills around Jackson Hole almost everyday so if you're in need of some info or a partner, let us know. Check out some of the cool places and lines we ride.
TetonSplit was hatched by Tianse Abeles-Allison who has been snowboarding since he was a wee child. He has ridden over 1400 days in powder, technical couloirs, and little diddys, picking up a few skills and a bit of knowledge. He moved west a decade ago from northern Wisconsin first to Montana then Wyoming. Since then Tianse has spent more than 500 days in the backcountry splitboarding, seeking out new experiences, stories, and friends.
His roots to Jackson reach 60 years back in time when his mothers family lived here. Tianse's grandparents volunteered as ski patrollers at Snow King and worked at the fish hatchery studying the effects of DDT on fish. Tianse’s mother recalls trenching through head deep snow at Snow King, climbing the cliffs across from the fish hatchery with her siblings, and being babysat by Bill Briggs.
When Tianse isn’t in the backcountry he works in lighting on commercials, TV shows, and feature films.
